Slapstick Saturday: William Regal is besmirched by The Rock on Thanksgiving

Welcome to another edition of "Slapstick Saturday," Cagesiders, where your old pal Hulk Holland pokes fun at every botch, blooper and bomb the world of professional wrestling has ever given us.

Michael N. Todaro

The Rock would make a great Ambassador for the United States.

His method of conflict resolution -- when it comes to international affairs -- would be to take a turkey drumstick, wash it off, baste in in Worcestershire sauce, turn it sideways and shove it straight up someone's candy ass.

Sure beats trade sanctions.

Regrettably, that's not the kind of thing that sits well with a besmirched pro wrestler like William Regal, who was making strides as a villain in 2000, particularly on the Nov. 23 Thanksgiving edition of WWE Smackdown.

See for yourself.

All this turkey needed was some stuffing, but "The Brahma Bull" instead opted for a verbal lashing, which was exactly the kind of thing a "goodwill ambassador" like Regal detested, as evidenced by his weekly "etiquette lessons" for the unwashed masses.

Doesn't feel like that long ago ... until you see Billy Gun beating Eddie Guerrero for the Intercontinental title.
