"Victory is a glorious thing. But for some, it's the only thing. The battle's over but the war... it begins. Survival is everything."
If you weren't already hotly anticipating tonight's (Sun., Nov. 24, 2013) WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view (PPV) from the TD Garden Arena in Boston, Massachusetts, you surely are after watching the above video promoting the John Cena vs. Alberto Del Rio world heavyweight championship match.
Right?
Actually, this one feels far too fluffy. Like there was never all that much material to work with so the production crew dressed it up to look real pretty but when you strip it down, there isn't much to look at.
That's the Cena vs. Del Rio feud in a nutshell.
Superman was brought back into the fold far faster than anyone thought possible after his triceps injury and subsequent surgery and with The Authority running what started as a hot angle with Randy Orton, Daniel Bryan, Big Show, and even the Rhodes family, there simply wasn't any room for Cena.
So why not have him bring back some legitimacy to the Big Gold Belt?
That's what tonight is likely about, more than anything else. Cena continuing to solidify his status as a true champion and the world title is his coveted prize.
Enjoy the show!
