Slapstick Saturday: John Cena is a 12-time WWE champion

Still not as bad as that giant name tag John Laurinaitis made him wear.

(Booker voice) 12 time ... 12 time ... 12 time!

It may come as a surprise to most pro wrestling fans, but John Cena was a two-time WWE champion. In addition to that, he was also a 10-time WWE champion. That's not to be confused with the time he was WWE champion.

Wait, what?

Welp, poor Teddy Long was trying to bring the hype for the Extreme Rules contract signing, which featured a match between Cena and the recently re-introduced Brock Lesnar. Unfortunately, Teddy had a hard time remembering which championship went where.

Michael Cole: "Laurinaitis needs to make some better hires!"
Jerry Lawler: "Give Teddy a break!"

He could have at least tried to bail himself out by spinning it into something humorous. I know it's not nice to make fun of a guy who stumbles his way through a promo, but hey, if The Rock can do it, why can't we?

See for yourself.

Better luck next time, playa.
