Figuring that Christmas Bounty will get whatever rating it gets whether it stars a face or a heel, WWE turned The Miz heel again last night when he short-armed Kofi Kingston, leaving the high flier alone against The Real Americans. The Wildcat was forced to tap to a Jack Swagger Patriot Lock, while Kingston and the fans in Nashville were left wondering what made The Awesome One give up on being a good guy.
Whether or not we get an explanation from Miz, the powers-that-be have used the events of last night as justification to book the partners as enemies for this Sunday in Boston, MA. Kingston vs. The Miz has been announced as the free streaming Kickoff show for this year's Survivor Series.
It actually provides a nice bit of symmetry for the former reality show star, as it was around last year's November pay-per-view (PPV) that Miz turned face when he joined with Kofi on Team Foley against Team Ziggler. He's probably noticed that he lost that match, and hasn't done a whole of winning since becoming more honorable - including recent beatdowns from Randy Orton, The Wyatt Family and Kane.
Kofi, on the other hand, has spent the last year...being Kofi. No idea where he goes from this match, but it fits with his role as mid-card utility man, and probably indicates that he'll stay in that role for the foreseeable future.
You can see the match and make your own judgements, on Sunday, November 24th at 7:30PM Eastern, free via the internet, right here at CSS, on WWE.com, their YouTube channel, or a on a myriad of other platforms and devices with which the company partners.
