Daniel Bryan was given yet another chance to win the WWE championship tonight (Sun., Oct. 27, 2013) at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view (PPV) event at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida, when he took on Randy Orton in a Hell in a Cell match with Shawn Michaels as special guest referee.
The idea? That no matter what, after the title had been vacant for three full weeks, someone would walk out the champion.
Well, that happened, and it's Orton.
The match wasn't all that different than every other Bryan vs. Orton match you've seen in the past few months, and there have been many. Bryan got all his high spots in and so did Orton. There were Yes! kicks and Yes! Locks and draping DDTs and all that jazz.
But when it came down to it, they went with the smoz finish.
Triple H stormed down to convince Michaels to do his job, causing a distraction. Not long after, Michaels took a ref bump, leading to Triple H entering the cage, where he threw Bryan off Michaels, whom he was attending to.
Then, Bryan hit the flying knee on Triple H only for Michaels to get up and hit Sweet Chin Music on Bryan, which Orton used to get the pinfall to win the title.
And there you go.
