WWE Main Event comes waltzing back into our lives tonight (Jan. 9, 2013) at 8 p.m. ET on Ion Television featuring former world heavyweight champion Sheamus taking on world heavyweight champion in waiting Dolph Ziggler.
Well, we think he's the champ in waiting. If he ever gets around to cashing in that briefcase of his.

Michael Cole and The Miz setting up tonight's match.
Video package of Sheamus winning the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 28 and his run with the title. It runs straight into Dolph Ziggler's video package.
Sheamus is backstage with Matt Striker. He asks if Sheamus is concerned that Ziggler will regain the championship before "The Great White" does. Sheamus has no fear. He is building Ziggler up, calling him athletic and a great wrestler. But he is scared to finally pull the trigger.
In the garage with Ziggler, Big E, and AJ. Josh Mathews interrupts them and asks Ziggler if he's losing momentum since losing to Cena on Monday Night Raw. Big E steps up the Mathews and asks if that is a real question. Mathew gets scared and immediately flees.
Big E: "Hey, Dateline, come back!"
Ziggler and AJ start laughing.
Ziggler: (Pointing at Big E) "This guy is all right with me."

Dolph Ziggler vs. Sheamus
Both men circling the ring. They lock up, and Sheamus pushes Ziggler into the ropes. The ref stars his count before finally forcing Sheamus to break the hold.
Sheamus takes early control. A whip into the corner and Sheamus goes for the pin. Only good for one.
A sweet drop kick by Ziggler and "The Showoff" looks to be taking control. A forearm to the face by Sheamus puts an end to that. Sheamus channels his inner Hulk Hogan with a body slam and leg drop. Cover only gets one.
Sheamus going back to work with some heavy blows. He goes back for the pinfall, but again only gets one.
The Miz is bitching about how he's a "bona fide" star instead of talking about the match. Because The Miz sucks.
Sheamus goes for the Brogue Kick! Ziggler sees it coming a mile away and drops to the matt. He rolls out of the ring to take a quick breather.
We come back from commercial with Ziggler stomping a mudhole in Sheamus's ass. The ref forces Ziggler to break it up, and Sheamus is able to take control back. A rolling body slam gets a two count.
Sheamus sends Ziggler into the ropes and bends over, but Ziggler is able to stop his momentum and land a kick to the face. A swinging neckbreaker gets a two count. He sends Sheamus into the corner and follows it up with a body splash. Another two count.
Ziggler with the patented headstand headlock. Sheamus gets to his feet and falls backwards to break the hold. Both men slow to get to their feet.
Sheamus is up first. He charges Ziggler, but a drop toe hold sends Sheamus face first into the ropes. Ziggler follows it up with a drop kick -- a pretty sweet one at that -- and its back to the head lock.
Sheamus starts reigning blows to the midsection to break the hold. He runs the rope, but a high knee by Ziggler sends Sheamus down. He drops the elbow, and that gets the two count.
Sheamus continues to fight back. He charges Ziggler, but again "The Showoff" is a little too athletic and moves out of the way while Sheamus goes shoulder first into the ringpost.
Ziggler tries to follow up with a splash, but he eats ringpost as well. Sheamus is able to take control. He goes for the White Noise, but Ziggler is able to squirm free. He squirms right into the ropes, though, and Sheamus starts with the Irish Hand Grenades.
Ziggler falls outside of the ring. Out follows Sheamus with a shoulder tackle as we go to commercial.
We come back with both men in the ring. Ziggler goes for the high kick. but Sheamus is able to pick him right up. Ziggler squirms out and sends Sheamus through the ropes. Sheamus is able to land on the apron.
Sheamus goes for the battering ram through the ropes, but Ziggler JUMPS RIGHT OVER SHEAMUS AND COMES CRASHING DOWN RIGHT INTO SHEAMUS' HEAD!
A long two count before Sheamus kicks out.
Both men exchanging blows as Sheamus gets to his feet. Ziggler tries to run the ropes, but Sheamus counters into an Irish Curse Backbreaker. Ziggler kicks out at two.
Sheamus going for White Noise, but Ziggler squirms out. He squirms right into a Texas Cloverleaf, though, Ziggler is able to grab the rope to break the hold.
Ziggler is able get some distance with a few punches. Up to the top rope he goes, and lands beautiful flying dropkick. Sheamus kicks out at two.
Sheamus crawling to the corner. Ziggler tries to follow, but Sheamus kicks out his knees. Up to the tope rope he goes, but Ziggler chases after him.
AND ZIGGLER HITS A DDDT FROM THE TOP ROPE!
Another long two count before Sheamus kicks out.
Both men slow to get to their feet. Ziggler is up and goes for the ZigZag, but he misses by a mile. Sheamus makes his way to the top rope and hits a Battering Ram from the top rope. Ziggler is just able to get his shoulder up.
Sheamus is being to "feel it." The crowd is calling for it He tunes up the band.
Ziggler is able to duck under. He goes for the Super Kick, but only gets air. Sheamus counters with a Brogue Kick and Ziggler is sent flying out of the ring.
Sheamus goes after him as the ref counts. Big E stands in his way. They both look at each other before Sheamus goes flying back into the ring. He barely beats the count, but Ziggler is not so lucky.
Sheamus is your winner via count out.
Strange ending, but great match.

Sheamus is calling for Big E to come into the ring. Big E teases it by climbing up onto the apron, but shakes his head no and makes his way up the ramp.

Wade Barrett vs. Zack Ryder
Oh this should be fun.
Bell rings, and Ryder starts a "Woo!" chant to get the audience into it.
They cannot help you now, Mr. Ryder.
Both men trading holds before Wade lands a few elbows. He gets a quick two count.
Wade marching slowly around the ring. Ryder is able to take advantage with a arm drag. Wade is quick to get back to his feet, though, and lands a kick to the midsection that brings Ryder down. Only good for a two count.
The Miz and Cole are bitching about something. They suck together. Where's Santino Marella?
Ryder with a back body drop and he gets a two count. Wade quickly gets back to a standing postion and sends Ryder into the corner. He lands a few kicks before the ref breaks them up. An Irish Whip sends Ryder to the opposite corner. Wade tries to follow, but Ryder manages to get the knees up. Wade is able to stop his momentum and tosses Ryder out of the ring. We go to commercial with "The Internet Champion" writhing around outside of the ring.
We come back with Ryder tied up in the ropes. Wade is landing high knees before a boot to the dome sends Ryder flying out of the ring.
A fistful of Ryder's -- limited -- hair brings him to the apron, and a suplex puts him back in the ring. Wade gets the headlock, but Ryder fights out of it. He tries to run the rope, but is met with a high knee. Wade drops the elbow, and then follows it up with an elbow drop from the top rope. Ryder kicks out at two.
Wade gets back to work and sends Ryder into the ropes. Ryder with the Bulldog to gain momentum. A drop toe hold sends Wade into the corner. Ryder goes for the Broski Boot, but Wade rolls out of the ring. Ryder follows and tosses the Intercontinental Champion back in.
Ryder tries to run the ropes, but Wade counters with the Tilt-A-Whirl. It only gets a two count. He goes for the suplex, but Ryder counters with a neckbreaker. Wade gets the shoulder up at two.
A drop toe hold puts Wade down in the corner. The Broski Boot gets a two count.
Ryder is calling for the Rough Ryder. The crowd wants it. Up he goes...
And Wade is able to duck under it, sending Ryder right into the top rope. He staggers around the ring.
And eats a Bull Hammer right in the kisser.
Wade Barrett with the win.
Not a bad match, all things considered.
Next week's match will by Randy Orton vs. Antonio Cesaro.
That is going to be fun.
