Here's your Daily Open Thread for Mon., Jan. 7, 2013. As usual, come discuss whatever you would like if you get bored at work, or just want to chat with all your favorite lovely Cagesiders on any topic you want!

It's Monday, so do what you gotta do to get yourself out of bed and get to wherever you gotta go. Speaking of Monday, apparently the name of Monday is derived from Old English Mōnandæg and Middle English Monenday, which means "moon day".

Guess what else? On this date, in the year 1610 -- Galileo Galilei made his first observation of the four Galilean moons: Ganymede, Callisto, Io and Europa -- although, he was not able distinguish the last two until the following day, Jan. 8, 1610.
