WWE vs TNA: The Invasion, Part II

What would happen if WWE and TNA went head-to-head in a full pay-per-view (PPV) card? Why, it would be one of the most exciting PPV's in the history of the business! Find out what the full card would look like, right here!

Last night in the "Daily Open Thread for Jan. 3, 2013," Cagesider 'CaseygarnerPDX' came up with a brilliant idea:

What if the rosters of WWE and TNA were to join together to put on a crossover pay-per-view (PPV)?

Along with Cagesiders 'Buckeye Brawler', 'ReverendKain', and 'WhyILoveWrestling', we all started to nail down the details of what the card may look like. Instead of letting the idea die in the thread, though, I did what any great promoter would do...

I have decided to make it a full-fledged angle!

The Road to WWE vs. TNA: The Invasion, Part II

WWE has booked a PPV card in TNA's home territory of Orlando, Florida. The Impactenites -- sick and tired of being labeled the number-two promotion in America -- were not going to let WWE come waltzing into their home without a fight. As WWE traveled south with its shows, the TNA roster starts to pop up on Monday Night Raw and SmackDown. WWE gets sick of their unwanted appearances. A challenge is thrown down.

An all-day PPV for pro wrestling dominance.

This will be the card to prove, once and for all, who the superior promotion is.

This is WWE vs. TNA: The Invasion, Part II.

Santino Marella vs. Eric Young:

If you are asking for a reason why this match is happening, then you do not understand comedy gold.

Michael Cole vs. Taz:

I just want to see Michael Cole get choked out.

David Otunga vs. Joseph Park:

Lawyer vs. lawyer match? Lawyer vs. lawyer match.

Zack Ryder vs. Robbie E for control of The Bro List:

The pride of Long Island takes on the pride of the Jersey Shore in the ultimate Bro-Off. There will be fist pumping, there will be spray-on tans, and there will be lots of sentences ending with the word "bro."

Alberto Del Rio & Ricardo Rodriguez vs. Chavo Guerrero & Hernandez:

The pair of tag teams compete for the title of "Pride of Mexico." That's really all there is to it.

The Prime Time Players vs. Joey Ryan & Matt Morgan:

"Millions of Dollars" faces off against "The Big Man & The Giant" in a standard tag team match. The in-ring skill may not be the best of the night, but I know the promos would be amazing to listen to.

R-Truth & Rey Mysterio vs. Kurt Angles & Rob Van Dam in a Reefer on a Pole Match:

The joke is that these men have been known to use recreational drugs.

'Eve vs. Kaitlyn vs. Layla vs. Gail Kim vs. Velvet Sky vs. ODB' in an Elimination Match for the Unified WWE Divas/TNA Knockout Championship:

Throw a bunch of sexy women into the ring and see what the hell happens. I know I would enjoy watching it.

Sheamus & Wade Barrett vs. Doug Williams & Magnus:

Sheamus and Wade Barrett put their differences aside to do battle against The British Invasion in a battle to claim rightful Kings of the United Kingdom.

Antonio Cesaro (c) vs. James Storm for the United States Championship:

The WWE United States Champion Antonio Cesaro puts the title on the line against the "The Cowboy" James Storm. The anti-American against the beer drinking, Johnny Cash listenin' star of the Impact Zone is the perfect "Us vs. Them" match.

Team Rhodes Scholars vs. The Dudley Boyz in a Tables Match:

The most intellectual tag team in the business squares off against one of histories most decorated teams. Can you imagine the promo Damien Sandow will cut on these miscreants? Although the match is a Dudley Boyz specialty, you can bet the Rhodes Scholars will hold their own.

The Big Show (c) vs. Mr. Anderson & Robbie T in a Handicap Match for the World Heavyweight Championship:

I have no rationale for this, other than there is no one left on the TNA roster. Like literally no one left.

Ryback vs. Aces & 8s:

It is true that two is greater than one. It is also true that three is greater than one. It is also true that no matter how many members that are in Aces & 8s, they still are not enough to bring down Ryback. This is fact, not opinion.

'Dolph Ziggler & AJ Lee' vs. 'Tara & Jessie Godderz' in an Inter-Gender Tag Team Match:

The match to prove the ultimate pro wrestling power couple. Although Ziggler will certainly out-compete Jessie, Tara has years of experience on the young AJ. It will test both couples resolve to see who will emerge victorious.

Shane McMahon vs. Garett Bischoff in a Street Fight Match:

The ultimate showdown of nepotism, the son of Vince McMahon takes on the son of Eric Bischoff. Yes, technically speaking, Shane is not on the roster. But this matchup was too good to pass up.

'Vince McMahon & Stephanie McMahon' vs. 'Hulk Hogan & Brooke Hogan' in an Inter-gender Tag Team Match:

Continuing on the nepotism theme, Vince McMahon and his daughter Stephanie, will face off against Hulk Hogan and his daughter Brooke. The match isn't even close to even, but I'm not going to complain about seeing Stephanie back in action.

Team Hell No (c) vs. The World Heavyweight Champions of the World (c) for the Unified WWE/TNA Tag Team Championship:

The two most entertaining aspects of each's respective promotion go head-to-head to become the ultimate Tag Team Champion. Also, in this alternative universe, Christopher Daniels & Kazarian never lost the TNA World Tag Team Championship. Because why the hell would anyone take the belts off of these guys?

Randy Orton vs. AJ Styles:

Two stars who should have been the face of their respective promotions. For Randy Orton, drug use and injuries have kept him from reaching the top spot. For AJ Styles, his higher-ups have doubted his abilities to be a top star. These two have much to prove, and they will battle it out in the ultimate fight for respect and honor.

'Tyson Kidd vs. Justin Gabriel vs. Kenny King vs. Zema Ion' in an Ultimate X Match for the X Division Championship:

You cannot have WWE and TNA go head-to-head without having an Ultimate X Match. The talent is too good to let this opportunity go. No buildup is needed. Just set up the structure and let the talent do what they do best.

Brock Lesnar vs. King Mo in a Shoot Mixed Martial Arts Cage Match:

Don't sit there and tell me you don't want to see Brock Lesnar destroy King Mo. Because you totally want to see Brock Lesnar destroy King Mo.

The Shield vs. Austin Aries & Samoa Joe in a Three-on-Two Handicap Match:

The Shield stand for righting injustice in pro wrestling. Austin Aries & Samoa Joe stand for kicking people's asses. Although Aries & Joe were given an opportunity to choose a third partner, a quick look around the TNA roster proved that adding anyone else would only drag the team down.

The Undertaker vs. Sting:

The Phenom vs. The Icon. The match that the fans demanded a decade ago. The match that the fans wanted five years ago. The match that the fans will probably watch without checking Twitter in the middle of it today. It's been a long time coming, and, although both men are far past their prime, it is still a match that needs to happen.

John Cena vs. Bobby Roode in a No Disqualification Match:

The face of WWE goes one-on-one against the longest reigning TNA World Heavyweight Champion. Although Roode doesn't have the same clout in TNA that Cena has in WWE, there is really no one that emerges as the guy in the Orlando based promotion. This is the best matchup for these two men, and a No Disqualification Match will allow for an exciting all out brawl between them.

CM Punk (c) vs. Jeff Hardy (c) for the Unified WWE/TNA Championship in a Ladders Match:

The disrespected champion. The outcast who has found a new home. One of the best feuds in recent WWE history is renewed when CM Punk calls out Jeff Hardy for being the champion of the minor leagues. Both the WWE blinged out belt and TNA's...whatever this is will hang high above the ring as the two champions battle it out to decide who is the Best in the World.

What do you think, Cagesiders? Are there any matches that are missing? And, more importantly, would this be a card you want to see? Let us know in the comments below.
