Many of you have wondered how we're going to handle the Royal Rumble match when it comes to the Pay-Per-View Pick 'Em Game, which rolls back around this coming Friday in advance of the Royal Rumble event on Sun., Jan. 27, 2013, in Phoenix, Arizona.
Instead of making you wait until it's time to post your picks, we're going to let you in on that right now.
The usual scoring dictates that you get one point for every correction prediction on the undercard and two points for correctly predicting the main event. That will be the case here as well, assuming The Rock vs. CM Punk goes on last. If the Rumble match itself goes on last, no two point bonus will be handed out.
And that's because there will be far more bonus points on the line.
As you likely noticed in the Royal Rumble Rewind posts we've been doing leading up to this year's show, we list off five key distinctions from each match: Winner, Last Eliminated, Iron Man, Quickest Out, and Most Eliminations.
You will be tasked with picking each of those categories with plenty of bonus points on the line. Sure, it will be exceedingly difficult because we can't know each entrant in the match but that's why so many bonus points are available.
Here's what you'll get for nailing each category:
Winner - 20 points
Last Eliminated - 5 points
Iron Man - 10 points
Quickest Out - 5 points
Most Eliminations - 10 points
That's a total of 50 bonus points up for grabs. That means you can either pull away from the rest of the pack or catch up to it in a hurry. That's without mentioning the other points available on the undercard.
There you have it, Cagesiders. Start thinking now of how you'll be predicting this show. As a reminder of where you sit in the standings, here's the latest chart:
