Do you know who he is?

He's Bully Ray and it's entirely possible his contract with Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Impact Wrestling is up and he'll be leaving the promotion soon, no different than his former tag team partner Devon.

But wait... isn't he set for a big match on Impact Wrestling tonight (Sept. 6, 2012) in Orlando, Florida in the Bound for Glory Series?

Yes, he is, but Devon was the television champion when his deal came up and they never bothered to book him to lose the title before failing to re-sign him. In fact, they have yet to tie-up that loose end, presumably because they're simply hoping everyone forgets the belt even exists.

Truth be told, that's basically what's happened.

Bully Ray is different for a number of reasons, the least of which is that he's a much bigger star, at least relative to TNA and its current roster. There's no questioning he's a higher priority for the company but with recent cutbacks that have seen prominent members of the roster like Velvet Sky disappear from the promotion, it's not unreasonable to think he's expendable.

Aren't they all?

It's crazy to think, but we could very well know his status by the end of the evening simply by what they do with him on television. Reports from the likes of the Observer and PWI have stated the two sides were close to a deal and negotiations were going well, so it's not out of line to think that if he wins tonight and makes the final four in the BFG Series he's got a new contract and will be staying with the company.

But, remember, Devon was the TV champion and he still ended up leaving.

As always, Cagesiders, stay tuned.
