Although you may have forgotten, WWE will debut yet another weekly television show when WWE Main Event hits the airwaves this coming Wed., Oct. 3, 2012, at 8 p.m. ET on Ion.
That makes for four televised shows every week alongside, Monday Night Raw, Friday Night Smackdown and Saturday Morning Slam.
Here's how WWE.com describes the show:
WWE Main Event debuts this Wednesday on ION Television. The hour-long program will feature in-ring action, commentary, exclusive behind-the-scenes content and continue to build on the events of Monday Night Raw, leading directly into Friday Night SmackDown, making Wednesday night appointment viewing for the WWE Universe.
In order to kick things off with a bang, the promotion has announced WWE Champion CM Punk will take on World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus in the first ever singles match between the two.
Don't expect matches like this to become the norm. The show will be taped on Tuesday nights alongside Smackdown, so while the brand extension is mostly dead, there are still a few stars -- Punk, John Cena -- who work almost exclusively on Raw.
Either way, the big guns are out for the big debut. Enough to make you want to tune in, Cagesiders?
