We've known for months and months that Bobby Roode and James Storm would hook up for a big money match at the Bound for Glory pay-per-view (PPV) on Oct. 14, 2012, in Phoenix, Arizona. Initially, it looked like the heavyweight championship would be on the line with Storm challenging Roode for the belt after winning the Bound for Glory (BFG) Series.
But Roode ended up losing the title to Austin Aries, who has kept it ever since, and eventually cost Storm his shot at winning the Series, resulting in the reigniting of their year long, off-and-on feud.
After a couple weeks of brawling back and forth all over the Impact Wrestling Zone in Orlando, TNA General Manager Hulk Hogan made the match official during tonight's (Sept. 27) episode of Impact on Spike TV. But he added to distinctly important stipulations.
- It will be a Street Fight.
- Bellator light heavyweight mixed martial artist Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal will be the special enforcer.
This seems like an interesting spot to introduce Lawal, if this will indeed be when he debuts. It's good in that it immediately gets him involved with two of the bigger stars on the roster but I can't imagine he won't look extremely out of his element here.
Hopefully that knee is healed up just fine.
Here's the updated Bound for Glory match card:
-- Austin Aries vs. Jeff Hardy for the TNA heavyweight championship
-- Bobby Roode vs. James Storm in a Street Fight with King Mo Lawal as special enforcer
-- Christopher Daniels and Kazarian vs. AJ Styles and Kurt Angle vs. Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez for the TNA tag team championships
