On this date in WWF history: Christian makes his WWF debut at 'Breakdown'

Christian made his debut in the World Wrestling Federation at the Breakdown pay-per-view on this date in history (Sept. 27, 1998), costing Edge his match against Owen Hart.

Before Edge and Christian formed a tag team in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), one that would go on to become one of the most successful in the history of the promotion, they were introduced as storyline brothers who were feuding with one another.

Such a cliche, right?

Well, Christian made his debut on this date in history (Sept. 27, 1998) at the Breakdown pay-per-view (PPV) to distract Edge during a match against Owen Hart. No one knew who the hell he was other than that he looked a lot like Edge and he had never been seen before.

It would eventually be revealed that Christian had aligned himself with Gangrel, who Edge was feuding with at the time. Ultimately, Christian and Gangrel would convince Edge to align himself with them to form The Brood, a stable of vampires who were distinctly emo before that term ever came into existence. Back then it was called "goth."

Whatever.
