Former WWE Champion Dave Batista will make his mixed martial arts (MMA) debut on Sat., Oct. 6, 2012, at the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island, against Rashid Evans.
In anticipation for the fight, the official poster for the event has been released by Batista himself on his Twitter account.
In addition to promoting Batista's MMA debut, the poster also promotes an upcoming film Batista will star in, The Man With The Iron Fists, which is set to hit theaters on Nov. 2. So they're killing two birds with one stone here. That's all well and good but there's something alarming about this particular poster.
It shows Batista's nickname in MMA will be "Brass Body." You know, as opposed to "The Animal" or "The Beast," two monikers he used while he was with WWE during his hugely successful run with the company.
He did say he wants to be like Alistair Overeem.
Thoughts on this, Cagesiders?
Cagesider 'who me' reveals that Brass Body is the name of Batista's character in the movie they're also promoting. The lesson here? Research is my friend.
