WWE blew the roof off the TD Garden Arena in Boston, Massachusetts, last night (Sun., Sept. 16, 2012) with its Night of Champions event that featured CM Punk retaining his WWE championship in the main event after going to a draw with John Cena when the latter executed a German suplex into a bridge pin but never got his shoulders off the mat.
So the champ retains.
As for how that affects the standings, the decision was made that picks for both Punk and Cena will earn two points. Punk retained his belt, making him worthy, but Cena got the pin, making him worthy. So we're going with the flow and being liberal with points.
By the same token, because Eve stepped in for Kaitlyn in the Diva's championship match against Layla, no points were awarded for that particular match, nor will it have any affect on anyone's win-loss record.
Here are the complete results from Night of Champions:
CM Punk def. John Cena
Sheamus def. Alberto Del Rio
The Miz def. Sin Cara, Rey Mysterio, Cody Rhodes
Antonio Cesaro def. Zack Ryder
Daniel Bryan and Kane def. Kofi Kingston and R-Truth
Randy Orton def. Dolph Ziggler
And here are the results from this event, with quite a few of you having done quite well for yourselves.
