My colleague and all around pro wrestling encyclopedia Keith Harris brought word earlier that JBL would likely be the guy filling in for Jerry Lawler at Night of Champions tonight (Sun., Sept. 16, 2012) in Boston and not Jim Ross.
He was right.
That's because it's now been confirmed by both men, as well as the company. Both guys have taken to Twitter to talk about the situation with Lawler wishing him well and once again thanking everyone for all they've done during his recovery.
"Sorry I can't be at Night Of Champions tonight, but I understand JBL will be taking my place. I wish him the best of luck! ... I also want to thank the thousands of fans and friends for the outpouring of well wishes and concern for me. I love the WWE Universe!"
Lawler is said to be doing very well and is likely going home within the next week and possibly as soon as the next few days. JBL won't just be working Night of Champions tonight in Lawler's stead, he'll also be filling in at Monday Night Raw tomorrow night.
"Share a birthday with King and wish my friend the best! I'll be keeping ur seat warm Jerry! Get well soon, love u King! ... Big question to Jerry Lawler how did u put up with Michael Cole?"
JBL and Cole were a good team during their time together and should do just fine tonight and tomorrow.
