As a fair warning, this post contains spoilers from the episode of Smackdown that was taped last night (Sept. 11, 2012) in Ottawa.
Following Monday night's episode of Raw, WWE had booked every title for a match at the Night of Champions pay-per-view (PPV) event scheduled for this Sunday night in Boston, Massachusetts. All except for the Intercontinental championship held by The Miz, which has sadly become somewhat of an afterthought despite Miz's best intentions.
So how did we get to a Fatal Four-Way this weekend?
According to reports from Smackdown in Ottawa, Sin Cara, Rey Mysterio, and Cody Rhodes all said they could defeat Miz to win the title. Miz, in turn, remarked that he could beat them all. Teddy Long, conveniently standing right there for all of this, exercised his power in Booker T's administration and booked them all in a Fatal Four-Way at Night of Champions.
Just like that.
Yes, it's cheap and it's lazy but at the very least it should be a fun match and we can't ask for much more than that, especially with the situation surrounding Jerry Lawler and everyone still reeling from it.
After the jump, check out the now complete Night of Champions match card.
