UPDATED: Multiple reports that Jerry Lawler suffered heart attack or stroke on WWE Raw


Reports are now coming in from multiple outlets that Jerry Lawler collapsing on last night's (Sept. 10, 2012) episode of WWE Monday Night Raw was due to either a heart attack or a stroke.

First, Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer:

Talent at arena being told it was a likely a heart attack.

Then Alex Marvez of

A source told that it's believed Lawler suffered a stroke or heart attack, with the former being the most likely. The fact medical personnel were at ringside allowed Lawler to receive immediate treatment, the source said.

There has yet to be an update from WWE since Michael Cole gave his final address before Raw went off the air and official word likely won't come down for some time as tests are still being done at a local hospital in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, where the show was being held.

UPDATE: Arda Ocal of The Score tweets the following: "I'm hearing from multiple sources backstage at RAW that EMTs saved Lawler's life before going to Hospital. Confirmed to be a Heart Attack."

Smith Hart, Bret Hart's older brother, also tweeted on what he heard from backstage on the incident: "According to my friend Jeremy Prophet who was backstage at RAW, Jerry was clinically dead for 20 min before being brought back by defibrilat."
