News broke in the past 24 hours of "The Queen of Wrestling" Sara Del Rey being offered a WWE contract. Bully for her and bully for the overall stature of the Divas division.
If you wonder why this is such fantastic news, look no further than this week's Podcast-A-Go-Go. CHIKARA put her and Grand Champion Eddie Kingston inside a ring together this past May during an atomico incrediblé eight-man tag team match.
Her performance against "War King" impressed officials so much she is now getting a shot at the promotion's top prize. Kingston makes his sixth defense against Del Rey later this month at The Great Escape.
The only disappointing part of Del Rey's signing is it pretty much confirms Kingston will go over when they meet on July 28 in South Portland, ME. I would have loved to have seen "The Queen of Wrestling" holding the Grand Championship.
Also on tap this week are highlights from a singles match between Dasher Hatfield and Colt Cabana. It was the precursor to the Loser Leaves Town match at Chikarasaurus Rex: How to Hatch a Dinosaur between Mixed Martial Archie -- aka Archibald Peck -- and Cabana taking on the The Throwbacks, represented by Hatfield and "Mr. Touchdown" Mark Angelosetti.
