Tensions must be running extremely high in the Flair household, after Ric Flair was let go from TNA in the ongoing fallout from the veteran wrestler walking out on the promotion in order to re-sign with WWE. Of course, that tactic backfired spectacularly when TNA filed a contract tampering lawsuit against WWE in response, leaving Flair without a job in the wrestling business for the foreseeable future. The loss of income is probably hitting Flair hard, given his checkered financial history full of court judgements for unpaid debts spanning over fifteen years.
If you believe the TNA sources that wanted to bury Flair as he was in the process of being kicked to the kerb, then he still regularly gets "inappropriately drunk" despite not being able to afford the bar tabs that come with The Nature Boy partying lifestyle. Indeed, Flair's third wife Tiffany VanDemark soon divorced him after she grew sick and tired of his inability to retire gracefully, instead preferring to stay up drinking all night with the likes of John Cena, who is now undergoing a divorce of his own.
So the sad news that the police were called on Monday night to break up a fight between Ric Flair and his wife Jacqueline Bains Beems shouldn't come as too much of a surprise:
Wrestler Ric Flair and his wife were involved in an altercation at the couple's SouthPark condo Monday night, according to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department report.
Police say at around 9:40 p.m. Flair's wife, Jacqueline Bains Beems, assaulted the former professional wrestling champion, whose real name is Richard Morgan Fliehr.
The incident took place at the pair's condo in the 4000 block of Sharon Road near SouthPark Mall, but no one was arrested or transported to the hospital, police said.
Thankfully, this domestic dispute sounds less serious than the one they had in 2010, where Beems was arrested and charged with simple assault after her concerned daughter phoned the cops upon finding Flair bloody from a struggle that involved kicks and punches on her mother's end. The cause of the incident was apparently Beems becoming jealous at a waitress offering to drive her intoxicated husband home from the sports bar they were frequenting. I expect alcohol was involved this time too.
Indeed, Flair isn't the only one with a drinks problem in the relationship, as Beems was arrested for a DWI and reckless driving three months ago. I hope these two get the marriage counselling that they clearly need. Any further embarrassing incidents like this, could stop WWE from rehiring Flair when legally able to do so and also jeopardise his lucrative endorsement deals with local lotteries and Coca-Cola.
