Stacy Keibler may be well known to those in mainstream gossip magazines today as the arm candy of leading man George Clooney, but she originally rose to fame in the pro wrestling industry.
She broke into the business back in 1999 as a Nitro girl named Skye for World Championship Wrestling (WCW). She won a competition featuring some 300 or so entrants with an extremely sexy dance routine that was reportedly seen by 4.4 million viewers.
All of whom immediately became fans.
Her long, toned and tan legs (she stands 5'11'') became her trademark. She was a natural beauty and it wasn't long before WCW stopped using her just to dance and repackaged her as Miss Hancock. Unfortunately, her arrival was during the dark ages of the company, as it was torpedoing into oblivion while the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) was reaching unheard of heights of success. Because of this, she wasn't exposed to a large enough audience to truly appreciate her talents.
That is until this date in WWF history (June 14, 2001) when Keibler made her debut on Smackdown alongside Shane McMahon as a heel character in The Alliance to distract Rhyno and cost him his match against Test, who Keibler would later go on to date (both on screen and off).
Keibler was one of the ladies involved in the first ever tag team bra and panties match, alongside Torrie Wilson, Trish Stratus and Lita. Her team lost and WWF fans everywhere immediately became obsessed.
She would go on to various feuds over the next few years before being chosen as a contestant for the popular ABC series Dancing With The Stars in 2006. Her contract with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) expired soon after and she decided to pursue other opportunities in acting and modeling.
I think I can speak for most of you when I say, we miss you, Stacy Keibler.
