As Strong Bad used to say, the system is down!
Or at least it was for a short while this past Saturday (March 31) during Night Two of Ring of Honor's (ROH) Showdown in the Sun event in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
The two-day WrestleMania Weekend extravaganza boasted a great card from top to bottom and when the dust settled, the main event between ROH World Champion Davey Richards and "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin was deemed an instant, five star classic.
The fantastic match definitely alleviated some anger felt by those fans watching the show via internet pay-per-view (iPPV) through GoFightLive (GFL). During the showdown between former Future Shock partners, Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly, the stream went dead and officials began scrambling trying to figure out what to do for the live audience while also attempting to fix whatever the culprit behind the video outage was.
Live, O'Reilly and Cole began cutting impromptu promos on each other. O'Reilly played up his newfound rulebreaker tendencies and claimed their now-dissolved tag team only found success thanks to him. Cole responded by calling his former partner "Davey's b***h."
And of course, the audience began to chant.
When it became apparent the technical issues with the stream wouldn't be immediately solved, the math continued as originally planned. Time killing segments with Truth Martini and "The Prodigy" Mike Bennett accompanied by Maria Kanellis followed as ROH and GFL officials continued to look for a solution.
The problems continued through the intermission and the following match, the second bout of The Young Bucks and The All Night Express' Dual Duel. The stream crapped out again, leaving fans at home fuming.
But here comes ROH to make it up to you. They have posted both matches affected by the outage on their official YouTube channel. Can't say they aren't sorry for the hassle, Cagesiders.
Both videos after the jump.
