World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) superstar (kind of) The Rock tweets from the set of the film Pain and Gain posing with Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling superstar Kurt Angle:
The Peoples Champ, The Maestro Michael Bay, The Olympic Gold Medalist @RealKurtAngle #PainAndGain
Also interesting and of note is the fact that TNA posted this picture to its Facebook page with the promise of more info coming soon. Seems odd, to say the least, but hey, it's TNA.
What really pops out at me, though, are Rock's arms. In looking at Wikipedia's description of the movie, suddenly it all makes sense:
The film is based on a 2000 Miami New Times article by investigative journalist Pete Collins about "a couple of Florida steroid-abusing knucklehead bodybuilders who become criminals involved in an extortion ring and a kidnapping plot that goes horribly awry."
I think Rock may have taken his role a little too literally (wink, wink).
Pain and Gain will be released next year and also stars Mark Wahlberg and Ed Harris.
