Brock Lesnar vs Randy Orton planned for SummerSlam 2012?

Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton at SummerSlam later this year?

Everyone's favorite dirtsheet that World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) loves to discredit, the Wrestling Observer, dropped an interesting nugget in the latest edition of the Figure Four Weekly. In it, Bryan Alvarez reveals that plans (which always come with the disclaimer that they could change a million times between now and then) are for a feud between Brock Lesnar and Randy Orton.

The plan as of today, and this could change, is to build towards Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton at SummerSlam, which would be a big match and probably do a very good buyrate if promoted correctly.

For Lesnar to go from Cena to Orton between now and then means WWE plans on using him against only its biggest stars. But it also means they're burning through all the top dogs in the company within the first few months of Brock being back.

Of course, he only has a limited number of dates -- or at least that's what was first reported -- and it's entirely feasible he could feud with Cena, move on to Orton, take a break and then come back to do a program with The Rock or Undertaker leading into WrestleMania 29 next year.

All of this is speculation for now but it makes sense to have Lesnar working against only the top guys. And if he can manage to maintain an unbeaten streak against them, as he should, WWE could mess around and build towards the biggest WrestleMania ever come April 7, 2013, in New Jersey.

Stay tuned.

In the meantime, what are your thoughts on a potential Lesnar vs. Orton feud? Like it?
