WWE Extreme Rules live streaming pre-show on YouTube with Santino Marella vs The Miz

They started it with a pre-show on YouTube at WrestleMania 28 earlier this month and now it's back again.

WWE Extreme Rules 2012 goes down this Sun., April 29 in Chicago, Illinois, live on pay-per-view (PPV) at 8 p.m. ET but before the big show kicks off, fans will get the chance to see a title match for FREE on the pre-show set for 7:30 p.m. ET.

The show will air on YouTube, WWE.com and Facebook.

The match itself -- Santino Marella defending the U.S. title against The Miz -- is secondary to the fact that WWE has caught on with what UFC has been doing for some time and live streaming preliminary cards in the hopes of converting a few viewers into PPV buyers. The gains have been minimal at best, at least so far, but it's still a good practice to please consumers.

After all, we're not going to complain, right?

Well, we might complain about the fact that Miz is being given a title shot after he hasn't even appeared on television in the past two weeks. And that it's entirely possible he'll take the title from our funny guy, Santino. But at least we won't have to pay to see it.
