Hard to believe it's been 27 years since the original WrestleMania, which made history on March 31, 1985, via closed circuit television from Madison Square Garden in New York, New York.
The event, as a whole, was extraordinarily gimmicky, with the inclusion of pop star Cyndi Lauper and A-Team badass Mr. T. Muhammad Ali was a special guest referee and we also had the $15,000 body slam challenge between Andre the Giant and Big John Studd, but all that extra stuff hardly mattered.
That's because spectacle or not, it was a damn good show.
Only two matches crossed the ten minute mark, including the main event that saw Hulk Hogan and Mr. T (with Jimmy Snuka) defeat Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff (with Cowboy Bob Orton). The other was David Sammartino vs. Brutus Beefcake.
