On this date in WWE history: Matt Hardy wins Fear Factor

via <a href=""></a>

On February 25, 2002, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) stars Jeff and Matt Hardy, along with Andrew "Test" Martin, Amy "Lita" Dumas, Nora "Molly Holly" Greenwald and Jacqueline "Jacky" Moore, participated in a celebrity episode of NBC's Fear Factor.

For those of you unfamiliar with the show, the idea is to see how long contestants can withstand being subjected to a myriad of gross or terrifying challenges. On this particular episode, the WWE superstars were competing for $50,000, payable to the charity of their choice.

The first stunt consisted of climbing up a ladder into a moving chopper. Lita was too slow and Jeff fell off. Both were eliminated. The rest of the group moved on to chow down on pig brains and some other nasty ingredients, like rooster nuts and animal fat. Molly Holly and Test couldn't hang.

That left Matt Hardy and Jacky as the final participants and they had to do some crazy shit involving telephone poles and flags, but it's much easier if you just watch the video, after the jump.

Matt Hardy wins Fear Factor and 50k for the American Cancer Society ... in much better days.
