As suspected, Christian made his return to WWE tonight (Sun., Feb. 15, 2012) at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. But what we didn't suspect was that Alberto Del Rio would do the same.

Indeed, both men were back and looking better than ever. Del Rio pimped his usual hot car while Christian came out rocking a full beard. They showed up (along with Mark Henry) during John Laurinaitis' segment to announce his intentions of taking over as permanent General Manager of not just Raw but Smackdown, as well.

The angle so far is that many of the wrestlers on the roster are unhappy with Teddy Long, who currently runs the Smackdown side of things, and they're throwing their support behind Laurinaitis in an appeal to the Board of Directors to make "Ace" the boss of all shows.

Long responded later in the night that he agrees there should be just one man in power on both shows but he thinks it should be him.

At the very least, this gives quite a few guys something to do while new feuds are sorted out. While the WrestleMania 28 match card is almost completely booked, quite a few guys -- like Del Rio and Christian -- have nothing to do at present time. The initial thought, of course, is that they'll head for a Money in the Bank match that is reportedly going to take place on the show. But in the event it's not, they could very well be involved in this angle as some sort of faction against Long, similar to what they did against Triple H not long ago.

If that's the case, let's hope this storyline is far better than that one was.

Nonetheless, Del Rio and Christian are back, hopefully for good. Anyone want to fantasy book this angle to a conclusion at WrestleMania 28 on April 1 in Miami?
