Cageside Seats Weekly RECs: Week ending Dec. 7

Cageside Features: Our very own Cageside 'REC' Awards, for "Recognizing Excellence in Contributions from the Cageside Community". Are you a winner of the Interwebs? Could you be? Let's find out...

We're back with yet another dose of amazing work injected by you, the Cageside commenters. Many of you have impressed us all by producing some amazing work and golden comments yet again. So it's that time of the week to recognize the excellent FanPosts, FanShots, and comments that were the "Best in the World" (of Cageside) this past week.

As always, thanks to Cagesider Ecstasy with Extra Cheese for cleverly naming our Weekly Cageside Commenters Awards "The RECs", which perfectly sums up what this feature tries to do. After all, without all of you, Cageside Seats would not be the greatest pro wrestling website on the Internet.

So, without further ado, we present to you...

The cSs REC Awards:

[Answering if people are over Michael Vick]

Yeah, that whole necrophilia fad was sooooooo 10 years ago. by Kanenite on Dec 2, 2012 9:06 PM EST 4 recs

From the "WWE Monday Night Raw still three hours long despite TV listings saying otherwise" thread:

Keep the third hour. Sure, the ratings aren’t holding up over 3 hours, but I have a hard time believing the WWE isn’t still profiting more from the extra hour. And this way, it leads to a lot better matches on the show and a lot more faces getting air time on Smackdown and Raw. And business will pick up again. The WWE is pushing a lot of new talent right now. You can’t build new superstars overnight. It takes time and dedication to that wrestler, but I think we’re getting there with more than just Ryback. If The Shield keeps getting pushed, each one of those guys has main event potential in him and could reach that level sooner rather than later. Except Reigns probably. I think he could be the WWE’s favorite of the group, but he’s still very green. And lets not forget the amazing work of Cesaro and Sandow. Cesaro is forcing you to take notice with how he Swiss Death’s people from every angle, and Sandow is absolutely killing it as the Intellectual Savior of the Masses. Keep pushing those guys and let guys like Ziggler and Miz continue to grow from upper mid-carders to main eventers. A move back to 2 hours just ensures that we’ll get more emergency Cena and Sheamus and limit what everyone else can do. by hfl2013 on Dec 2, 2012 1:08 PM EST 3 recs

From the "Hulk Hogan named one of the least influential people of 2012 by GQ" thread:

This is how I imagine a skit featuring 2 of my uncles would go. Poorly acted and ultimately embarrassing.

From the "Ric Flair claims he'll never wrestle again despite wanting to, due to eventual WWE return" thread:

I pretend the WWE is all there is. In my version of the world, Ric Flair was begrudgingly beaten by his best friend Shawn Michaels in an awesome match at WrestleMania XXIV ("I love you…" SUPERKICK!) and forced to retire from the ring, and has spent the last five years relaxing at home with his dogs, doing the occasional bit of gardening and researching his family tree. by Funky Dung on Dec 6, 2012 8:06 AM EST 1 recs

From the "TNA Impact results and live blog for Dec. 6: The 'Final Resolution' go home show" thread:

Oh ho, Midol! Is funny, Hulk, because is medication for LADIES! And Bully Ray is not a lady! Oh, you have done the humor again! by ReverendKain on Dec 6, 2012 9:10 PM EST 1 recs

Sadly, eBay banned the sale of spells recently. by joliemadchen on Dec 5, 2012 9:38 AM EST 4 recs

Fun Fact: Lion King, 1994….was also one of the first occurrences of #GenoTime ….. "MUFASA, WHAT ARE YOU DOING!??! DON’T GO IN THAT CANYON?!? WHAT THE HELL…..??? NOOOO!!! DONE, DONE, I AM DONE WITH LION KING RELATED CINEMA…. by ultmma on Dec 5, 2012 1:37 PM EST 6 recs

And...

IF YOU EVER SAY A WORD ABOUT MUFASA’S "VAUNTED" WILDEBEEST DEFENSE, FUCK YOU. FUCK YOU AND DIE. by Anderson Silva Money on Dec 5, 2012 1:55 PM EST 5 recs

From the "The Rock's early 2013 WWE schedule includes a reported three Raw shows and the Royal Rumble" thread:

Someone already brought up the possibility of a Rock/Cena/Punk 3-way at WM in a unification match. I love the idea. How about some fantasy booking for how we get there? Mine: Cena beats Ziggler, cashes in on Big Show at some point in the next three months. Rock beats Punk at Rumble but Punk sneaks into the Rumble late into the game and ends up winning it. So he gets to choose which title he challenges for… he trots Rock and Cena out to the ring for the announcement and says he wants both. He goads them into a 3-way dance at WM where he ends up winning, giving him his WM moment plus the rub he’ll need to put over future stars in the next few years as he phases himself out. by Anderson Silva Money on Dec 5, 2012 5:38 PM EST 6 recs

From the "Video: Happy Holidays from WWE superstars, who are all awful singers" thread:

Wait...wait...wait... Big Show and Sheamus were near one another…they don’t like each other. Ziggler and Cena were peacefully co-existing. Ryback didn’t take out Punk and he was RIGHT THERE! AJ didn’t make out with anyone! …if I didn’t know better, I’d think wrestling wasn’t real. by tkatt00 on Dec 5, 2012 7:53 PM EST 3 recs

and also from the same thread...

and also from the same thread...

Does he do a spinaroonie on Scrabble board after he wins? by keyboard punk on Dec 7, 2012 8:27 PM EST

I got all excited when he said 17th century, I thought I had a chance, then it turned out to be an art question. I could have named the electors of the Holy Roman Empire for you, Mr. Sandow! by ReverendKain on Dec 7, 2012 8:40 PM EST
