WWE Main Event results and live blog for Dec. 5: Kofi Kingston vs Antonio Cesaro

WWE Main Event comes waltzing back into our lives tonight (Dec. 5, 2012) at 8 p.m. ET on the Ion Television network for yet another weekly episodic program from the largest pro wrestling company in the world.

Tonight's show features another champion vs. champion match as Intercontinental titleholder Kofi Kingston takes on United States champion Antonio Cesaro. Neither title is on the line.

We move into previews by replaying last week's setup to tonight's match.

Kofi Kingston with Josh Mathews.

He says that people know him as a flyer and that he loves to have fun, but the wildcat will be showing up tonight to drop the boom.

Antonio Cesaro vs. Kofi Kingston

Cesaro says that, despite the fans and their efforts, he is still our US champ. Cesaro says that this country is full of empty hopes and dreams. Cesaro says that no one wants to work hard anymore. He says that he doesn't hate us, but he pities us.

He closes with telling us he welcomes all "USA" chants because he has proved that this is the United States of Antonio.

Match will start after the break.

Wade Barrett and R-Truth join commentary as we return from break.

Cesaro with the wristlock to start. Kofi turns it around. The two exchanging armlocks and Cesaro gets the takedown, rubbing Kofi's face in the mat. Cesaro working Kingston in the corner. He tries a hip toss, but Kofi springs out and brings the fight to Cesaro. Kofi gets knocked down and Cesaro tosses him into the corner. Kofi turns out and goes up top, mounting Cesaro for ten punches. Kingston with an uppercut, but Cesaro gets one of his own that downs Kofi. Cesaro with the side headlock takeover and he holds Kofi in that position. Kofi gets up, but Cesaro hits the shoulder block. Cesaro off the ropes and Kofi leaping and ducking to land an elbow that sends Cesaro outside.

Kofi follows up with a suicide dive to the outside. Him and Wade have a moment, but Cesaro is put back inside of the ring for a nearfall.

Cesaro moves to the apron and Kofi with a suplex attempt. Cesaro brings him to the apron and uses an arm wrench to bring Kofi down on the apron. Cesaro goes back inside and takes Kofi down. Cesaro working an armlock and wraps it up to land a few strikes. Cesaro deadlifts Kofi for the Karelin throw. Nearfall.

Kofi fights back with body shots, but he is sent to the corner. Cesaro charges, but Kofi gets the pendulum kick. Kofi going for a springboard attack, but Cesaro catches him to lock in an armbar. Kofi tilts over for a nearfall.

Action back up and Cesaro gets a double-leg takedown to put Kofi down.

Cesaro controlling as we break.

Cesaro has the armlock as we return. Kofi kicks his way out and Cesaro tosses him into the corner. Cesaro charges and eats an elbow. Kofi goes up, but he eats a Swiss Death on the way down for a nearfall.

Cesaro gets a hammerlock and punches the ribs. He tries a slam, but Kofi falls over on him for a nearfall of his own.

Cesaro punches Kofi and sends him to the ropes. Kofi catches the rope and back bodydrops Cesaro to the apron. Kofi with a back bodydrop to the inside. Chops to the chest and flying forearm land. Kofi lands the Boom Drop and he is ready for some Trouble in Paradise.

Wade Barrett comes in and R-Truth follows. No official winner here, apparently.

Truth grabs the mic and says that everyone wants a fight. Truth wants a tag match.

The group agrees.

Truth and Kofi send Barrett outside before we break, controlling the opening of this match.

We are back and Barrett gets a shoulder block. R-Truth with a dropkick and Kofi Kingston comes in on a tag.

Kofi gets a nearfall.

Barrett with forearms to the body and he tags out to Cesaro.

Cesaro with the arm lock and Kofi reverses it into a front headlock.

Truth brought in and the group gets a double hip toss. Kofi kicks Cesaro in the head on the exit. Truth all the ropes and a spinning leg drop earns a nearfall.

Truth locking in the chin lock and turns it into an arm wrench.

Kofi in and he gets a springboard forearm for a nearfall.

Cesaro in the corner and Kofi with a kick. Kofi with the arm wrench and unloads roundhouse kicks to the body. Kofi starting with punches to Cesaro, but Cesaro picks him up and runs him into his corner. Wade Barrett is brought in on the tag.

Barrett with an armbreaker for a nearfall.

Barrett still focusing on the arm of Kofi, slamming it into the mat. Barrett locks in an armbar on Kofi. Kofi out and Barrett pulls him to the mat by his hair. Knee drop from Barrett and he brings in Cesaro.

Stomps and elbow drop by Cesaro earns him a nearfall.

Cesaro working a hammerlock behind the head of Kofi. Kofi springs to his feet and lands a monkey flip on Cesaro. Truth is brought in.

Truth knocking Cesaro down and catches a kick. A few pelvic gyrations lead to a clothesline. Truth puts Cesaro up and brings him down on a stunner for a nearfall.

Cesaro rolls outside and Truth begins to stalk him. Barrett jumps down from the apron, but misses his attack and Truth clocks him. Cesaro clubs him from behind and brings it inside for a nearfall.

Barrett is in and gets the front headlock. Knees to the body. Truth sent into the ropes and he blocks a bodydrop attempt with a kick to the face. Truth again off the ropes, but Barrett gets a big boot to the face for a nearfall off the turnaround.

Barrett gets the chinlock in on Truth. Truth fighting up to his feet and gets out. Truth off the ropes again, but Barrett is there with a running knee to the stomach. Barrett with a nearfall.

The Europeans in control as we break.

We are back and Barrett tags in Cesaro after sending Truth to the floor. Cesaro brings him inside and grabs a front headlock in a sprawl position. Truth looking to tag, but Cesaro stifling the movement. Truth spins out, but Cesaro turns it into a sleeper hold. Truth out and Cesaro clubs him down. Cesaro off the ropes, but Truth with the dropkick. Cesaro holding the leg to prevent a tag, but Truth escapes.

Barrett and Kofi in. Kofi with the flying forearm and the signature followup. Barrett almost hits the Winds of Change, but Kofi tilts it into a rollup for a nearfall.

Crossbody from the top by Kofi gets the nearfall.

Barrett stops Kofi in his tracks with a sidekick and brings in Cesaro.

Cesaro in, but Kofi with a jumping crossbody and some punches to follow. Kofi hits the SOS on Cesaro, but Barrett breaks it. Truth hits the Little Jimmy on Barrett and they go outside. Kingston looks for the Trouble in Paradise, but Cesaro ducks and puts Kofi in the corner. Truth makes the blind tag and goes up top for a sunset flip. Truth holding onto it and Kofi nails him with the Trouble in Paradise.

Truth and Kofi are your winners.

Post-match, the winners hype their matches at TLC.
