Should WWE unmask Rey Mysterio before releasing him?

It has been a circulating rumour that Rey Mysterio could be for the chop, it has also been strongly recommended by Mr. Mrosko. But if Mysterio is indeed going to be wished the best in his future endeavours would it be a good idea to have him lose his mask as part of one last big match? This would also give him a story line reason to retire and in a far more favourable manner for him than to just disappear.

One consideration could be a Luchas de Apuestas with Sin Cara, WWE may (in this hypothetical scenario) prefer this as it would double as a way of building up Sin Cara but I am unsure if that would be do-able without a heel turn.

There is also the possibility of Mysterio wishing to continue wrestling elsewhere, for example in TNA and he may not like the idea of unmasking for fear of it hurting his marketability. Of course he did unmask previously in WCW but I feel confident in saying that the children at the WWE shows wearing his masks have no clue that ever happened (or even know what WCW was for that matter).

Or it could be WWE intends to keep Mysterio around until his knees completely disintegrate.

What do you chaps think?
