It was on this date in history all the way back in 1919 that the one and only Babe Ruth of the Boston Red Sox was sold to the New York Yankees, who offered an absurd amount of money for the emerging hitter who would ultimately become one of the greatest of all time with a legacy that continues on to this very day.
