The bad press for WWE just keeps on coming.
On top of the major controversy with CM Punk punching a fan in the stands at Monday Night Raw in Sacramento, California, last night (Oct. 8, 2012), TMZ.com brings word of another incident involving a heel character and a negative interaction with a fan.
Except this fan is an 8-year-old kid.
Indeed, a women named Shelly Ehler -- who won a big investment on the ABC reality show "Shark Tank" -- attended a live event this past weekend in Anaheim with her son. They took a sign with them that reads "Sheamus you rock!!!" with a picture of the world heavyweight champion on it.
During his entrance, Alberto Del Rio grabbed the sign and ripped it in half. Or attempted to, at least. He fails, miserably, but his manager, Ricardo Rodriguez, finishes the job.
You can watch the video at TMZ by clicking here.
Ehler told TMZ the following:
"Del Rio is a bully. I looked at him and said 'he's crying' ... and he mocked him."
On top of that, she sent a letter to WWE:
"Take signs from adults NOT KIDS! My son was bullied by your superstars and it is not okay."
WWE eventually responded:
"While Alberto Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez were portraying their WWE characters, we sincerely apologize for any misunderstanding that may have occurred."
Not a good couple days for WWE.
