After a tumultuous past week and a half or so, Dave Buatista will finally make his professional mixed martial arts (MMA) debut TONIGHT (Sat., Oct. 6, 2012) at the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island.
His opponent was originally Rashid Evans but he's in the slammer, so Batista, as he was known during his time in WWE, will now take on Vince Lucero.
It's actually a pretty big step up in competition.
Lucero is a veteran of the sport with a ton of experience, having competed professionally in 42 fights, even if his win-loss record is noting to write home about.
It should be a wild fight, and the action is scheduled to kick off at 8 p.m. ET on DirecTV pay-per-view. There's also a live stream at BaustistaMMA.com.
We will, of course, have a live blog right here with full results.
See you later tonight.
UPDATE: It looks like we will be starting at 9 p.m. ET now? Be sure to visit then for some quality fight coverage!
