Vince McMahon and John Cena return to Raw next Monday (Oct. 8) in Sacramento

After this past week's episode of Monday Night Raw garnered the lowest rating in 15 years for WWE, the panic created by that has produced the return of both Vince McMahon and John Cena for next week's show.

WWE

Even though WWE knew it would take a hit in the ratings this past Monday night thanks to John Cena being out injured, nothing advertised for the show, and a really strong Monday Night Football game between the Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys, that didn't stop them from panicking once the numbers came in.

That's because they were the lowest they've been for a non-holiday show in 15 years.

Meanwhile, the Bears victory over the Cowboys (sorry, I can't say it enough) delivered 16.6 million viewers, the highest of the young season for ESPN. This led us to speculate that, injury or not, Cena would be back on the show next week and heavily involved in said show.

That's happening. From his Twitter:

"Still not medically cleared but @wwe @CMPunk I WILL be at #raw THIS MONDAY in Sacramento #nevergiveup #riseabovecancer."

On top of that, he'll be appearing on the Kelly and Michael show in the morning that day to promote the show.

But that's not all.

WWE.com has revealed that the one and only Vince McMahon will be back for a "state of the union" address. Rather than say what he'll talk about, the article poses questions to gives hints at what might come up, such as Raw General Manager AJ Lee and her job performance. That was an angle this past week, so expect that to be the case.

As for the rest, I guess we'll just have to tune in Monday night to find out.

Just like they want us to.
