Although it's highly unlikely CM Punk will be the guy to take on Undertaker and his streak at WrestleMania 29 next year, rumors are indeed out there that it's a discussion that's been had at WWE headquarters recently.
"The Straight Edge Superstar" is, after all, one of the few credible opponents on the roster who fans would openly accept for such a match.
If it were to happen, it wouldn't be the first time the two have tangoed. Indeed, they've met multiple times in the past few years, including on this date in history (Oct. 4, 2009) at the very first Hell in a Cell pay-per-view (PPV) at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
After Punk had defeated Jeff Hardy for the world heavyweight championship and vanquished him from WWE after a memorable feud, 'Taker turned his sights on the belt and the two went at it at Breaking Point, where Punk retained, and Hell in a Cell, where "The Deadman" emerged victorious.
Watch it happen and then let us know if this is something you would like to see again but on a much bigger stage.
