Just a little review of the current state of WWE, nothing fancy just want to go through things that make sense and things that do not.
What makes sense:
Having CM Punk go heel and having him teamed with Paul Heyman. This has worked well, as I never bought CM Punk's face act.
What doesn't make sense:
That his talking points that are supposed to be "jerky" are actually pretty accurate. When your heel is supposed to be whining but in all actuality is perfectly pointing out what's wrong with your company, maybe you should take notice.
What makes sense:
Having Ryback squash jobbers and mid-level stars. Dude just has the look to warrant that role, a role that I don't like, but none the less he does have that look about him.
What doesn't make sense:
Even having him sniff the Intercontinental championship, let alone the big one. He is maybe getting over with kids, maybe, and yet he's jumped to the number 1 contender spot. While it gives them the opportunity to have other superstars play the "he didn't deserve it" role, why not build him up by having him go through the ranks a little. Poorly planned and an ass-saving maneuver that isn't going to save their asses for this weak PPV they have built up.
What makes sense:
Giving Ziggler a strong push. Guy is my personal favorite youngster on the roster, good on the mic, and good in the ring.
What doesn't make sense:
Having him get squashed next week so they can build up Ryback. Why not let them go at it later? The timing of this is terrible with Zig supposed to be on a MITB run.
What makes sense:
Having JBL in the commentary booth. He is money on the mic, and brings back a true heel announcer that they've needed for a while (at least the 9 months I've been back watching.)
What doesn't make sense:
Relegating him to Smackdown and Main Event. If you are going to have boring ass 3 hour RAW shows (which 80% have been) you need commentary to at least make it seem like it's not boring.
What makes sense:
Having Heath Slater, Jinder Mahal, and Drew McIntyre team up.
