On this date in WWF history: Commissioner Mick Foley returns to SmackDown!

Mick Foley returned to SmackDown on this date in history, relieving William Regal of his duties and taking over as Commissioner. What a fun time this was.

William Regal ... you have been relieved of your duties.

Mick Foley returned to pro wrestling on Oct. 11, 2001, making a surprise appearance on SmackDown as the new WWF Commissioner.

What makes this date in WWF history so special, at least for me, is the chance to see everyone at the top of their game. Foley delivers an entertaining (if not somewhat protracted) promo on "The Alliance," gives a couple of jabs to "Steve-O," and as usual, rattles off multiple "cheap pops" for the Illinois crowd.

And what a difference in commentating by WWE announcer Michael Cole!

What say you Cagesiders, does watching this video have you pining for Foley to take over as Raw General Manager once more? Or maybe not so much?
