WWE.com has just released the line-up for one of their biggest DVD releases of the year, a four disc set entitled "Stone Cold" Steve Austin: The Bottom Line On The Most Popular Superstar Of All Time. The line-up is copied for your viewing pleasure after the jump. That very verbose title seems like an intentional dig at Hulk Hogan, who Austin has had an uneasy relationship with during his career and it will be interested to see if his political problems with Hogan in WCW in the mid 1990s are brought up in the documentary part of the DVD. It sounds like the documentary will live up to being the bottom line on Austin's career, as it takes up an entire disc and is approximately two and half hours long with the special features included. The second and third discs feature eleven of Austin's matches, most of which are the standard picks that you'd expect. A nice surprise is that they include a match from the Memphis based USWA, very early in his career, where Austin faces his trainer "Gentleman" Chris Adams, which was the feud that put his name on the mat. The alternative commentary tracks, recently conducted by Austin and his career long confidante and supporter Jim Ross, for arguably the three most important matches of his career should be highly illuminating. A minor disappointment is that only one match is included from his WCW career, which given that he worked for the company for four years is not enough to fully capture his career path. The fourth disc features the most memorable angles of his career from WCW, ECW and WWE, and does a great job of covering all the obvious bases.
What are your thoughts on the line-up Cagesiders? Is there anything missing that they should have found space to include? Or are you content with the selection?
