WWE has now completely abandoned any idea of simply surprising its viewers and has now started releasing video promos touting The Rock's return at Survivor Series in an active wrestling role.
This will be the first time in seven years that "The Great One" will enter the squared circle for a match.
They're also giving away the fact that he will team up with John Cena in a traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series elimination match. This is obviously a way to do an angle between the two that doesn't involved being on opposite sides in a match. It also allows them to tout Rock's return to wrestling to pop a bigger buyrate.
It will undoubtedly work, as Rock is one of the biggest stars in the history of the professional wrestling business and his return is kind of a big deal. That said, let's hope they don't ruin the build up to Rock vs. Cena at WrestleMania 28 next year.
