Clever marketing and purposely ambiguous wording in advertisement packages, not to mention the return of a certain professional wrestling megastar, has led to the upcoming WWE Survivor Series 2011 pay-per-view event selling out in record time, as noted at WWE.com:
Tickets for the 25th annual Survivor Series sold out in record time, but you can still see all of the action when The Rock, John Cena and your favorite WWE Superstars invade New York City's Madison Square Garden, LIVE on pay-per-view Nov. 20.
The show was likely a sell out no matter what but the fact that WWE is advertising Rock has being an actual competitor that night certainly helped move tickets at a pace not seen before. This is a good sign for obvious reasons but most notably because it makes clear that fans are still more than ready to see this Rock feud with John Cena kick into high gear.
As we noted previously, don't expect "The Great One" to have an actual match on the card but he will definitely be in the house and all indications point to his getting physically involved at some point during the event. Which seems clear that he'll deliver a Rock Bottom or a People's Elbow and get out of dodge with the Madison Square Garden crowd going bananas.
