On this date in ECW history: Armando Alejandro Estrada replaces Paul Heyman as General Manager

06_medium

Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), operating under the control of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), announces Armando Alejandro Estrada as the promotion's new General Manager (GM) on this date in ECW history.

Estrada took over as GM on Aug. 14, 2007, after Paul Heyman vacated the position in late 2006, but would get lost in the shuffle as the new-look ECW struggled to find its identity.

The Chicago native was replaced by Theodore "Teddy" Long the following June and relegated to part-time jobber before receiving his release in November 2008.

I'm sure they wished him the best of luck in his future endeavors -- he certainly would have needed it after that dead-end gimmick.
