Breaking News: Josh Barnett vs Brett Rogers Set For Dallas, Texas in June

The Antonio Margarito friendly state of Texas has unsurprisingly opened its doors to Strikeforce for the Josh Barnett vs Brett Rogers fight. This card will also feature Alistair Overeem vs Fabricio Werdum as the main event. Both fights are part of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix.

The Texas Commission has been scrutinised in its handling of both Boxing and MMA in terms of insufficient medical and drug testing, judging and officiating. The first death from regulated MMA happened in November 30th 2007 after Sam Vasquez was defeated by Vince Libardi on October 20th at the Toyota Centre in Houston.

Now it seems Texas is building its reputation as a haven for official combat sports cheats to continue competing legally. It'll be interesting to see what if any repercussions this has on Barnett's ongoing drama with the California State Athletic Commission.
