WWE Royal Rumble next year takes place on Jan. 29, 2012, from the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri. This will mark the 25th anniversary of the second biggest event in the company's history.
Tickets for the show are priced at $300, $90, $75, $45 and $20, and will go on sale to the general public on Sat., Dec. 10, 2011, at 10 a.m. CT.
The Scottrade Center website's advertisement for the pay-per-view event also says the Rumble this year will have 30 participants instead of 40, like last year:
FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER IN ST. LOUIS!!!
WITNESS THE BEGINNING OF THE ROAD TO WRESTLEMANIA 28 WHEN THE 25TH ANNUAL ROYAL RUMBLE PAY PER VIEW COMES TO ST. LOUIS' SCOTTRADE CENTER
30 WWE SUPERSTARS COLLIDE IN AN OVER THE TOP BATTLE ROYAL FOR THE CHANCE TO COMPETE FOR EITHER THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP OR WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP AT WRESTLEMANIA 28 IN MIAMI FLORIDA!!
ALSO SEE THE WWE CHAMPION & WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION DEFENDED THEIR TITLES THAT SAME NIGHT!!
The obnoxious all caps are not mine, by the way. Card subject to change, as per usual.
Last year's event featured just four matches -- Edge vs. Dolph Ziggler for the world heavyweight championship, Miz vs. Randy Orton for the WWE championship, Eve Torres vs. Natalya vs. Layla vs. Michelle McCool for the Diva's championship and the Royal Rumble.
Assuming they don't use 40 men this year, it's safe to assume that means an extra match or two broken into shorter time slots. We'll know more as the event draws closer and WWE makes an official announcement.
