A few weeks ago, Mick Foley's return to WWE was officially advertised as happening on the Nov. 14 edition of Raw, which is the go-home show to Survivor Series on Nov. 20 in New York.
It seemed fitting, seeing as that show was also set to feature The Rock's big return -- live and in person -- in Boston at what was also being billed as "The Rock Reunion Show."
Then, suddenly, all that was scrapped and the tagline to the show changed before Foley was yanked from the advertisements on the WWE website and the TD Garden Arena site.
For his part, the artist formerly known as Mankind/Cactus Jack/Dude Love maintained his silence other than to say he anticipates showing up back with the company in the near future.
Now, Foley is back being advertised for the Nov. 14 show, only this time he's listed as a special referee.
And believe it or not, there are already reports saying the ad is just a mistake and he's not actually set to appear on the show. Not so surprisingly, as reported by Dave Meltzer, Foley has yet to be told about any of this and he hasn't officially been booked for anything ... yet.
The lesson in all this? Advertisements mean little because everything is subject to change. This applies tenfold to WWE, seeing as Vince McMahon is still commanding the ship.
