On October 7, 2004, Carlos (Carly) Colon Jr., billed as "Carlito Caribbean Cool," made his World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) debut on Smackdown! against the United States Champion, John Cena.
And he won! (Hey, it was still 2004.)
The best part of his debut is that it set up an immediate feud that ended when Cena was stabbed in the kidney during a nightclub altercation with Jesus, who was Carlito's overprotective cousin.
In other words, the WWE's usual tasteful approach to explaining a lengthy absence for a departing superstar (Cena needed the time off to film The Marine).
Anyone remember marking out for Carlito's win, on this date in WWE history?
