A couple of days ago, TMZ reported that Umaga's friends and family had recently held a memorial to celebrate his life in honour of the one year anniversary of his death. Included with the report was a gallery of pictures of former WWE performers at the event, namely Carlito, Charlie and Jackie Haas (with their child), MVP, Shelton Benjamin and referee Mike Chioda. Unsurprisingly these wrestlers were irate when they discovered that someone had surreptitiously sent photos of them enjoying a private memorial celebration to a low rent gossip site without their knowledge, yet alone their agreement. Shelton Benjamin voiced his displeasure via Twitter:
you know its a real damn shame when you allow someone into your home as a friend and they turn out to be a snake in the grass
ekkies memorial was both personal private and not for public display so its really pisses me off to see a trust betrayed
but i will root out this peice of shit who did this
to my fan i have to apologize for not censoring myself earlier, as father i'm aware the minors are reading and i try to be as responcible
to that fact i children read and are influenced by my words and actions. No i'm not "PG" but i try to be aware of my actions
so consider this a public apolgy to my fans and more importantly any minors reading my tweets. just understand that i have a bad temper
when its brought out.
I have gotten to the bottom of things as some people i know are subject to so choice words when i get home
The TMZ photos were a disgusting invasion of privacy. That was supposed to be a PRIVATE FAMILY affair. That person is a LOW LIFE PARASITE !
How some one can claim to be a "friend" & then violate that "friendship" is inexcusable ! A private moment made public. I'm disgusted !
For the record, there were no camera men in bushes ! It was some one AT the memorial with NO CLASS or RESPECT ! We know who it was !
Thats f*d up whoever sent them pics to tmz! ...and tmz is f*d up for putting that bad pic of me on the front page!
We were just trying to celebrate's Eki's life, no need for publicity. The person who sent photos to TMZ should be shamed. RIP UMAGA
