Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Championship Title Match/Farewell Singles Match
Chris Hero (Possible Champion) vs. "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson

-- When it was announced that "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson had signed a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment, it was like a kick in the pants followed by a punch in the gut. "First, no Tom Petty, now this?" was the sentiment around the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla office. Sure, we're happy for the guy, it's a great opportunity and all, but we really liked having someone called "The Best In The World" on our shows. It was a Greatness-by-Association-type thing. But when Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Champion Chris Hero caught wind of the intra-office bellyaching, he put a stop to it all.

"I am now the longest reigning Pro Wrestling Guerrilla champion in history. I have defended the title successfully against every person who wanted a shot. Yet Bryan Danielson is the 'Best in the World?' I already beat him at the 2008 Battle of Los Angeles. After I beat Roderick Strong at Speed of Sound, will people call me the 'Best in the World?' Somehow, I don't think so. What will it take to prove that I am the best? Beating Danielson? Again? If that's what it takes, I'll do it. If he's man enough to take the match before he leaves, then I'll be man enough to put the title on the line against him."

Singles Match
Roderick Strong (Possible Champion) vs. Karl "Machine Gun" Anderson

-- At Speed of Sound, taking place this Friday, August 28 in Reseda, CA, Roderick Strong has a very real chance of becoming the Fourteenth Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Champion. By using some deductive logic, if Chris Hero believes he should be considered the "Best in the World" because he beat Bryan Danielson in a non-title match, then that means Roderick Strong should be World Champion, since he defeated Hero at It's a Gift... and a Curse. Of course, this isn't the case, and Roderick Strong knows no amount of deductive logic will make him World Champion, only some broken backs. Roderick's complete focus on his upcoming title match is why he has no opinion on the man that could potentially be his first challenger, Karl "Machine Gun" Anderson.

At Speed of Sound, Karl Anderson will be teaming with Joey Ryan (known together as The Dynasty International) to take on Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks... in a non-title match. To say this was disappointing news to The Dynasty is an understatement, however with the new additions to the lineup of Guerre Sans Frontières, Karl Anderson's day has been brightened. If Roderick Strong defeats Chris Hero at Speed of Sound, the "Machine Gun" could be returning to Japan as Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Champion! While The Young Bucks have proven themselves as one of the top tag teams in the world, it would be tough blame Karl Anderson for thinking about his potential title shot instead of the World Tag Team Champions.

Karl Anderson and Roderick Strong's only prior meeting came at ¡Dia De Los Dangerous! in a 3-Way match for the vacant Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Championship, which was won by the third man in the ring, Human Tornado. At Guerre Sans Frontières, Tornado will not be involved, and this second meeting between Roderick Strong and Karl Anderson could very well be the first defense for a brand new champion, or the end of a seven day title reign. Though there is a third option: it could be a hard fought singles contest between two tough opponents. But if you ask Roderick Strong, there is no way Chris Hero leaves Speed of Sound as World Champion.
