New John Cena Movie to be Hilariously Awful?

According to Mike Johnson of the Pro Wrestling Inside Hot Scoops Monthly Daily News Site, John Cena has some exciting movie plans coming up.

As we broke Friday in the PWInsider.com Elite section, John Cena will be filming his third film for WWE Studios this December in the New Orleans area. Cena will be playing the lead character, Cal Oxley in the film "Oxley's Road." In the film, Cal is the youngest son of a wrestling family who decides to join his High School's wrestling team. That decision is made against his mother's wishes in an effort to get her and his oldest brother to reconnect as they have been estranged for a decade following a car accident where Cal's father died. They are currently casting a 15 year old to play a younger version of Cal, so the younger version will be the centerpiece of the film with John Cena playing a smaller role as the older version of Cal. Patricia Clarkson, who was featured in the past episodes of Six Feet Under and Saturday Night Live and will be in the forthcoming Leonardo DiCaprio film "Shutter Island", will be playing Cena's mother, Sharon. The film has a $10 million budget, which means its going straight to DVD. It will be Cena's third WWE project. Filming will commence on 12/8.

Well it doesn't sound so bad if it weren't John Cena.  Like, it sounds more like the pitch for a movie in 1995 designed to get Denis Leary over as a lovable bad boy.  I'm excited any time a wrestler is in a movie; I am one of the five people who saw the film "Buy & Cell", which is about stock-trading convicts, because it featured Roddy Piper.  So I'll be checking this out, but man if they were hoping to start breaking even with these WWE Films projects, this is 100% not the direction to take.
