TNA iMPACT #262

"On the Road to Victory"

TNACrumbley@gmail.com

Segment One

Mick Foley opens the show with an in-ring promo. He feels naked without the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. You don't want to see him naked, do you? The only way to clothe himself is by beating Kurt Angle at Victory Road. The power in TNA comes with who has possession of the World Heavyweight Championship, he needs to beat Angle for the good of the company. It's not out of the ordinary but Mick Foley has a request for Angle who then makes his way to the ring. Foley and Angle aren't that different, they wear their hearts on their sleeves. Foley submitted to Dory Funk Jr. in 1991 and he vowed he never would again. Sunday night, he faces the greatest wrestler of all time and needs to be on the top of his game. He requests a one on one match, no Mafia, no security. Angle says he and Foley stand for the same thing. Goes off on the next generation. They don't work hurt, are spoon fed, are overpaid. The Main Event Mafia are misunderstood men desperately clinging on to a world that barely exists. Sting enters the picture to offer a retort. The Mafia is about backstabbing, not honor. Sting has his own agenda for Sunday, he'll take out Samoa Joe and his advisor. Challenges Angle to a match tonight. Angle tweaks the match and we have ourselves a main event in the Six Sides of Steel.

Samoa Joe beats up Amazing Red in the back.

Segment Two

Joe continues his assault, battering Red down the ramp and throwing him into the six sided ring. Joe pushes down referee Rudy Charles and is disqualified. He beats Red until the crazy old security guy comes to ring with three security dudes with sticks. Joe bails and has a brief stare down with aforementioned old guy.

Sarita speaks briefly with Lauren. It doesn't matter who her opponent is, she always prepares with the same intensity. She gives a shout out to her Spanish speaking fans, declares love for me.

Segment Three

Video package airs on the conflict between Jenna Morasca and Sharmell. Don West moderates a debate between the two. Agrees with Sharmell that Jenna could stand to gain a few pounds. Jenna was disrespectful, she's the only woman who belongs in the Mafia. Jenna has an ace in the hole: KONG. Lots of yelling.

Suicide is lurking in the darkness, confining himself to a small cage in the recesses of the Impact Zone. He's ready for tonight's challenger, Chris Sabin.

Segment Four

Borash wants to know what Angle has up his sleeve. He wants to prove that he's the real icon, the only way to do so is by kicking Sting's ass in the Six Sides of Steel. The future of TNA hinges on Victory Road. Only true dominance can come from the Mafia sweeping their matches and capturing every championship in TNA. Well, besides the X belt.

Chris Sabin and Suicide had a fine five minute match. The Dark Savior heroically overcame Alex Shelley's interference and pinned Sabin after delivering the Suicide Solution. The Guns interrupt the celebration and administer a beat down. Sabin leg drops a chair into Suicide's face. Homicide runs to the ring to make the save. As he's returning the belt to the prone Suicide, he hears chants of "cash it in." He makes the decision to cash in his Feast or Fired briefcase and wins the X Division Championship after killing the gringo.

The Beautiful People are shown backstage walking towards the entrance area. Angelina is wearing a bee keeper's outfit.

Segment Five

Lauren questions Homicide's tactics. He says it's fair game, he doesn't make the rules. He then chides Lauren for not dating Latinos and pulls her off screen.

The Beautiful People are outraged over the spider situation, threatens to call P-E-T-E-R, whoever that is. The match last week was never official, Angelina Love is the true TNA Knockout's Champion. Tara will be making her reign official, Sunday at Victory Road. Tells Love that there just might be a spider in her outfit. As Love freaks out, Tara takes her out with the Widow's Peak.

A brief hype video airs, Sarita will be making her debut next.

Segment Six

Newcomer Alyssa Flash, walks down the ramp, stopping to speak with Dave Penzer. She resembles Traci Brooks, minus the outrageous breasts. She wants to known as the "Future Legend." After a hotly contested five minute match, Sarita defeats her by reversing a pile driver into a victory roll. Post match, Flash feigns a handshake but kicks Sarita in the gut and makes with a sit out suplex.

Segment Seven

AJ Styles says it's all about the money for Kevin Nash. TNA was better off without him. Styles would wrestle for free. Sunday, Styles will prove what a legend he is.

Scott Steiner, Kevin Nash, and Booker T take on AJ Styles and Beer Money, Inc. AJ Styles is pinned in three minutes after a jackknife powerbomb from Nash. He clearly wasn't happy with this as he kicked out right after the referee's hand hit the mat for three. Steiner pinned Storm. Roode pinned Nash after a belt shot. Sharmell distracted the ref while Roode had Steiner pinned. Booker hit him with the Legend's belt, then an Axe Kick for the win.

Segment Eight

Bound for Glory will be held live from Los Angeles. Tickets go on sale August 1.

Team 3D bitch about The British Invasion's lack of respect. It's their fault that Team 3D are no longer TNA World Tag Team Champions. At Victory Road, they will get their revenge. The Invasion enter the scene, they've managed to tweak the match. The IWGP Tag Team Championships will be on the line. Brutus Magnus refers to Rob Terry's flexing as "lovely" and 3D attack. Magnus is great, impeccable timing and delivery of his lines. Comedic timing isn't as easy as it looks.

Mike and Don run down the card for Victory Road.

Abyss is a monster, he loves to inflict and receive pain. At Victory Road, he's prescribing an ass kicking with no refills. Lauren spends this time shrieking and crying.

Segment Nine

Jeff Jarrett enters the Impact Zone for guest commentary during the main event. Throughout the match, Jarrett rebuffs West's attempts at wacky banter. Sting and Angle have a decent ten minutes of action with a commercial break in the middle. At Bound for Glory III, these two had an amazing match but Sting has really slowed as of late. You can't hold it against him, he's fifty, but fact remains, he hasn't had a good match all year. Joe beats up the ref, enters the ring and locks the door behind him. He applies the choke to Sting as FTW 13 flashes on the screen and the menu music to NHL '94 plays in the background. Jarrett and Foley try to get inside but the Mafia cut them off. Will TNA as whole be choked out Sunday at Victory Road?
